A former Vienna employee is facing charges of embezzling money from the city.
Forty-three-year-old Jennifer Anne Hunt remains free on $10,000 bond following her arraignment Monday night in Wood County Magistrate Court.
Hunt is charged in a criminal complaint with embezzling more than $1,000 collected by the Vienna Police Department while working as a city court clerk. The complaint says the money was taken between January 2008 and this month.
Mayor David Nohe tells The Parkersburg News and Sentinel that Hunt resigned after the investigation began last week.
Vienna Police Chief George Young says investigators are still trying to determine how much money was taken.
