Providence police have launched an internal affairs investigation after photos surfaced showing two women posing atop a city police van.

WPRI-TV reports that police are investigating the so-called “planking” incidents. Planking has become an online fad in which people lie on their stomachs with their arms and legs stretched out in unusual locations.

Police officials say the incidents happened several months ago and the officers who were operating the police van face potential discipline.

Photos of the women posing on the van reportedly have been circulating on Facebook for the past several weeks.
